WRENTHAM DEVELOPMENTAL CENTER

Folks, you are welcome that I did not have practice today!

No sense getting all wet and having to go out and possibly do the same the next day.

BUS LEAVES AT 8:30AM

Pack for tomorrow:

A change of shoes to walk the course in as well as your racing shoes.

An extra set of socks as I imagine you shall get either wet or muddy.

Maybe even a change of clothes

Something to drink as well as eat ( even though there should be a concession there).

Some money to purchase food or a tee shirt.

Positive attitude! We have gone from the intense heat to now a possibly chilly and wet place.

Sweats/ jacket for protection.

Umbrella

Blanket for ride on the bus

Pillow for same.

Races start a 11:30..we are leaving at 8:30

Last race starts at 2:00 for us.

LET'S DO THIS!

CONTESTS

Our handbook covers our expectation of how our team should conduct themselves, especially when on the road.

Mr. Magee has sent me some expectations the school would like followed while we are at other sporting events involving the school.  They are similar. We represent the community as well as the school.

Since you all have passes to games, I encourage you to attend and cheer on your friends and classmates in a positive manner.

I ALSO encourage you to ask your friends to attend our home Cross Country meets and cheer on both the Boys and Girls teams. We are also wearing the school colors as they are!

They don't necessarily have to understand our sport, but they can help encourage us ( after all, I hear a whistle in field hockey and I have no idea what happened...but it does not prevent me from positively cheering for our school).

Have fun at these games as they are part of your overall high school experiences.

WHILE YOU ARE AT IT...recruit folks for INDOOR AND OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD!

BOSTON UNIVERSITY CLINICS

There are a few one day Track and Field camps being held at Boston University this Fall.

They are designed especially for long jumpers, high jumpers, shot putters and discus throwers.

If you are interested, try to find someone else in your respective group and go!

The dates are 9/10 ( which is this weekend) 10/7 and 11/4 ( right before Indoor season starts).

I encourage all of you involved in those events to attend if you can. The prices go down if you have more folks in your event.
